THE STORY BEHIND

AUSTRALIA'S BEST GIN BOTTLE 2018

Inspired by a love of arthouse cinema, Nosferatu Blood Orange Gin takes it cues from the black and white cult classic, Nosferatu.

Nosferatu Blood Orange Gin is lovingly distilled, under the cloak of darkness, in 'The Schreck', a coffin-shaped pot still (believe that if you will) in a dusty old South Melbourne cellar.

With its distinctive red hue, Nosferatu Blood Orange Gin is delicate, yet packs a punch with botanicals such as Albanian juniper berries, blood orange peel, fresh navel oranges, dried orange peel, roasted fenugreek, coriander seeds, cardamom seeds, wormwood and angelica root.

Nosferatu Blood Orange Gin. A true cult classic. You know you want it.

As with all classics, treat it with respect.  Fill a Copa de Balon with the best ice you can find, add a generous nip of Nosferatu Blood Orange Gin, top up with a quality tonic and finish off with a sliver of blood orange. Cheers.

HOW WE MADE IT

FOR ALL THE GIN NERDS OUT THERE

The flavours in Nosferatu Blood Orange Gin are reminiscent of rich gins, Pimms and Campari.

It is a classic gin bursting with the flavour of Albanian Juniper berries.

Our fifth-generation distiller from South Carolina uses a three-stage orange infusion process, unique to Nosferatu, that combines orange peel, blood oranges and navel oranges.

There are ten botanicals used throughout the double distillation; one, as far as we know, being unique to Nosferatu - toasted fenugreek - which gives the gin its delicious toffee-vanilla flavour.

The blood orange and Davidson plums give the gin its light touch of bitterness.

Nosferatu Blood Orange Gin is made in a modified copper pot still with a ‘bubble T’ column, which we pack with fresh navel oranges. Distillation takes 27 hours and leaves the navel oranges stripped of colour and flavour. We call them the ‘white corpses’.

Nosferatu Blood Orange Gin. A true cult classic. You know you want it.
